The A Room at the Conservatory’s Gilbert location features a traditional live-end/dead-end control room and a 1,500 square-foot studio proper with a 22-foot ceiling height. Acoustical clouds hanging at the 18-foot level diffuse reflections. Aside from the floor and ceiling, there are no parallel surfaces, and much of the wall surfaces are broken up with distributed absorption. A single large isolation room with these same characteristics is available for tracking. The control room utilizes both RPG and quadratic diffusers. The Solid State Logic 4064-E/G console in this studio originally lived at the renowned Platinum Island in New York, and spent many years with the legendary Joe & Phil Nicolo at Studio 4 in Philadelphia.
