The Conservatory’s B Room at Tempe sports a traditional live-end/dead-end control room with RPG diffusion. The studio proper that it shares with the C Room has a moderate-sized isolation room for drum or other large-instrument recording. The Neotek Elite console in the B Room is well suited for both professional recording applications and education alike. The Elite features a signal path that is more sophisticated than most consumer-grade consoles, but less complicated than super-high-end desks like SSLs and Neves. It’s a perfect console to help students transition up to complicated high-end signal flow concepts. Among the ranks of Elite users in the pro audio world are Liz Phair, the Beastie Boys, Adrian Belew, Todd Rundgren, Lindsey Buckingham, and the legendary Steve Albini.
